Advanced Trauma Life Support-- 1.5 day HYBRID

Injured patients present a wide range of complex problems. The Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®) Student Course presents a concise approach to assessing and managing multiply injured patients. The course presents doctors and other qualified healthcare providers with knowledge and techniques that are comprehensive and easily adapted to fit their needs. The skills described in the manual represent one safe way to perform each technique, and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) recognizes that there are other acceptable approaches. However, the knowledge and skills taught in the course are easily adapted to all venues for the care of patients.

The ACS and its Committee on Trauma (COT) have developed the ATLS program for doctors and other qualified health care professionals. This program provides systemic and concise training for the early care of trauma patients. The ATLS program provides participants with a safe, reliable method for immediate management of the injured patient and the basic knowledge necessary to:

  1. Assess the patient’s condition rapidly and accurately
  2. Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority
  3. Determine if the patient’s needs exceed a facility’s capacity
  4. Arrange appropriately for the patient’s inter-hospital transfer (who, what, when, and how)
  5. Assure that optimum care is provided and that the level of care does not deteriorate at any point during the evaluation, resuscitation, or transfer process

For doctors and other qualified health care professionals who infrequently treat trauma, the ATLS course provides an easy-to-remember method for evaluating and treating the victim of a traumatic event. For doctors and other qualified healthcare providers who treat traumatic disease on a frequent basis, the ATLS course provides a scaffold for evaluation, treatment, education, and quality assurance. In short, ATLS is a measurable, reproducible, and comprehensive system of trauma care.

ATLS Instructor Course

The goal of the instructor course is to prepare doctors as instructors to teach the ATLS  student course. Over the years, the ATLS course has evolved to include greater emphasis on interactivity and small group learning. This 10th edition of the instructor course is based on the strong foundation of the previous editions, adding essentially two aspects: how to use scenario-based teaching principles and how to facilitate student learning, moving away from "sage on the stage" and embracing the role of "guide on the side." 

This course is a team-teaching interactive learning experience with the course director, an ATLS educator, and experienced ATLS instructors. In this experience, the course participants will acquire an understanding of the of the adult education principles that are used in the design and delivery of ATLS learning and teaching. Course participants are then provided an opportunity to put them into practice using the principles during practice training sessions. This structured team-teaching experience employs the newest concepts of adult education to optimally prepare new instructors for their roles as teacher, facilitator, instructor, and mentor of an ATLS student course. The approach of the instructor course is closely aligned with the pedagogy used in the 10th edition ATLS student course. 

TNCC Full Course (in-person, 1.5 days)

This in-person, full TNCC course is perfect for all levels of trauma experience-- from new grads to experienced RNs. Come get the full course experience in our comfortable classroom environment.

Online pre-course modules must be completed prior to the start of class. Access will be granted within 48 hours of registration.

All registration is final, no refunds. We will work with you under extenuating circumstances to reschedule your course or transfer it to another student. 

TNCC Recert (1 day, in-person)

This in-person, recert TNCC course is perfect for the experienced trauma nurse with a current TNCC certification. Come see us in person for an abbreviated refresher and skills testing in one day. Participants must have a current TNCC certification at the time of the course.

Books are available for purchase at check out. A 9th Edition TNCC Book is required for participation in the course. 

Online pre-course modules must be completed prior to the start of class. Access will be granted within 24 hours of registration.
